Join the festive fun at Eastgate
Eastgate will start the countdown to Christmas on Saturday 16 November when Santa arrives to open his grotto at noon.
The shopping centre will be joining in Basildon’s bumper Christmas lauch with a fun packed event featuring a host of festive walkabout entertainment. Families can meet the Elves and the Goodometer, who will be checking who has been naughty this year, and a pair of beautiful stiltwalking angels.
Basildon’s favourite comedy nun Musical Ruth will be back to entertain. Shoppers can catch her singing festive songs as she drives around Eastgate on her glittering baby piano.
There will be festive music from vintage singing trio The Candy Girls on the stage outside Ernest Jones. And the inflate-a-belles will be making fantastic festive balloons for families queueing for the grotto.
Bread and Butter’s cheeky Christmas Elves will also perform two comedy shows during the afternoon with prizes for audience interaction. The snow princesses will be there to add some fairytale glamour to the proceedings.
The grotto will be open every day through to Christmas Eve and tickets are free.
Eastgate’s shopping centre manager Ian Clark said: “We are looking forward to an afternoon of fantastic festive entertainment at Eastgate. The fun will kick off at noon when Santa opens his grotto to excited youngsters.
“We’re delighted to welcome Musical Ruth back to Eastgate – she’s a big favourite with our shoppers.”
