Our much-loved Chinese New Year celebrations are back at Eastgate – and they’ve been part of the centre’s story since 1988! This is one of our most popular and traditional events, bringing colour, culture and incredible energy to the mall year after year.
Join us for a full day of authentic performances, vibrant displays and the famous Lion Dance as we welcome in the Lunar New Year together. ✨🐲

What’s Happening
🥋 Martial Arts Displays – from 11am
Watch impressive live demonstrations just opposite Starbucks in the Ground Floor event space.
🦁 Traditional Lion Dance – from 12 noon
The iconic Lion Dance will begin from the Ground Floor and travel around the entire shopping centre, visiting stores to bring good fortune, prosperity and luck for the year ahead. The performance will continue for 3–4 hours, so you’re guaranteed to catch the action wherever you are in the centre.
